Lanas - Student residence

Composition of the six containers in the Landes.
LANAS
Located in the Landes forest, in France, Lanas is a residential housing for student designed with six recycled shipping containers. Students come to rest, recharge their batteries and study between exams and surf sessions.
The containers are stacked to create two identical buildings connected by walkways and terraces served by a central staircase.

Each container is designed to accommodate two students. The material used for the interior design layout is mainly local plywood for eco-friendly reasons. The layout is divided into seven open spaces differentiating by their function: the kitchen, the workspace with two desks, two bedrooms with single beds separated by a dressing room and finally the shower room.
On one wall of the container, three bay windows facing south-east separate the different spaces and let in the unique light of the Landes forest.
On the other wall, a long bronze bookcase connects the different spaces to each other.
